@ replies that make me laugh OR "Rest areas are the bath houses of the 90's"
Have you ever received an @reply on Twitter that absolutely makes no sense. It's from a bot that caught a key word in your tweet and suddenly your graced with a bunch of useless information.
Today, I mentioned the word, "coupon" and I received an @reply letting me know how many coupons are used in the US. Wow! Really? Because I was just wondering about that when I was actually making a point about a coupon oriented section of a web site.
It immediately reminded me of the movie There's Something About Mary. When Ben Stiller is sitting in the therapist's chair and is talking about pulling over at a rest area.
And, the therapist says, without having listened to anything he actually said, "You know Ted, rest areas are the bath houses of the 90's".
Oh well, rack it up as more useless knowledge for me to possess.
